Staycation Day 2

today was another fun day. we started the day off with pierce's swim lessons and then we headed to see Cars 2 - pierce's first movie theatre adventure. since it was close to lunch time we went to the studio movie grill. p had a great time, despite his 18 (or close to) bathroom breaks. towards the end of the movie he was ready to go home, but he of course said that he loved it all!

after naps we ran a couple quick errands and got sno cones on our way home.

and after dinner we all played outside in the backyard with the sprinklers and water hose.

i am so thankful for a few days with our sweet family of 4 and a much slower pace than usual.

staycation day 1

instead of heading out of town with our 2 littles, we decided to just take a few days and hang out together as a family here at home. with soccer season in full swing, most weekends one day is taken up with a game so it is so nice to have a few days together with uninterrupted time at home.

after stella's morning nap, we headed to the pool.

and after afternoon naps, we headed out to get ice cream!

our 4th of July weekend...

our 4th of july weekend was perfect.

a few fun activities balanced out with some perfect family time.

we are thankful for the opportunity to celebrate our freedom.

saturday we headed out to frisco freedomfest and then to the fc dallas game.

pierce and noah enjoyed the bounce houses, train ride, and fire trucks - the rest of us were sweating uncontrollably and couldn't get to the air conditioner quick enough. :)

the soccer game didn't start til after P's bedtime so he was already tired, but he did great. he watched the whole game and then actually enjoyed the fireworks!

stella slept through the whole soccer game, but woke up as the fireworks were going off.

on sunday, pierce and i made some cookies.

sunday night we celebrated evie's 1st birthday!

on monday the 4th we headed out the city of plano parade.

pierce loved the parade and waving his flag.

it has been on my mind since i finished reading this book:

have you read it? if not, you need to.

it is a fascinating true story of a little boy's 3 minute trip to heaven during a surgery that nearly cost him his life. i loved reading about what he saw and the way the he describes heaven. i can't imagine seeing colors that are hard to explain, angels with big wings, people from my past, and seeing Jesus first...

just so i will remember:

right now pierce loves: curious george, cheez-its, playing in the sprinklers, soccer, hamburgers, running around, watching youtube on mommy's phone, m&m's, having dance parties as a family, fireman sam on tv, popsicles, watermelon, growling like monsters, wearing hats, playing outside, his dunc dunc, and doing everything by himself.

and right now stella loves: her feet, her paci, rolling, watching her brother do anything, spoon fulls of baby food, sitting her in excersaucer, snuggling, her giraffe rattle, reaching for things, and bath time with pierce.
