pierce's first soccer game.

the season has officially started.
and choo choo fc is off to a great start.

pierce might have spent some time rolling on the ground.
and knocking the other team over.

but he had fun - once he figured out about waiting his turn to play.

and sweet justin.....coach justin....well he just might get a few extra jewels in his crown for all his work coaching 3 years old soccer.

thursday's thoughts

just a few thoughts for this thursday.
mainly so i won't forget these sweet memories.

stella:
enjoyed her first ice cream cone tonight.
and LOVED it.
talks all.the.time.
still loves bathtime.
and loves her pink dude.
a lot. just like her brother.
and pierce:
is absolutely lovin' this warm, spring-like weather.
he enjoyed some sweet playtime yesterday with his bestie, brady.
these 2 are so funny together - i love their friendship.
he is always makin' me smile.
he is his father's son.
so, p's new thing is to play teacher.
and it cracks me up.
he mimics all the things his teacher says during the day.
this is him being the teacher...
we are working on not scribbling...
pretty good for a 3 year, i think.
i am continually amazed with what p is learning at school.
he knows his letters, can count to 20, recites the months of the year, and so much more. last night we were hanging out and he just started saying the pledge to the american flag. what?!?!?! justin and i were so surprised and impressed...to say the least.
i am not going to lie - there are plenty of moments/hours/days when having a 3 year old and a 1 year old are hard. but there are so many more moments when it is wonderfully fun. i love each new phase - each new learning adventure - each smile and laugh.
thankful for these 2.

our beloved celtics

when the 'tics are in town, the mccord family all put on their green.
even duncan.
here are my littles in their celtic green before the game on monday.
justin and pierce headed to the aac for game.
it was a guys night.
they both had a great time and enjoyed getting to see their boston celtics play.
my sweet pierce taking it all in.
his comment to justin while the mavs dancers were on the court was "daddy, why don't those girls have shirts on?" it amazes me how honest and preceptive a 3 year old is...
after the game.
past bedtime.
but oh so very happy.

love is a many splendid thing.

love. it looks so different for each of us.
to one: love is the celtics, hot coffee in the morning, a new job, being coach, the word "daddy"
to one: love is sweet tea, time with a friend, my bible study, comfy clothes, the word "mommy"
to one: love is the dude, curious george, firemen, donuts with daddy, soccer
to one: love is the pink dude, eating anything, snuggling with mommy, playing with brother
yes. love is a many splendid thing. but is best shared with my 3 favorite people.

quietness of night

one of my favorite things to do each night is sneak back into sweet stella's room for a little snuggle.

in the quiet of her room, i just rock with her. pray for her. love on her. just me and my stella.

she is so peaceful. my stella.

and as difficult as mommy hood is sometimes, these quiet moments are such treasures.

thank you, jesus, for the quiet moments. the quiet moments that are often overlooked by the loudness and busyness of day. thank you for nighttime. and for your peace.
