Since Justin and I were at the rehearsal dinner on Friday, Pierce went and spent some time with Aunt A, Tio Jose, Grandma and Grandad.  They had dinner at OTB and P enjoyed some cheese quesadillas.  Then he got to spend the night with Aunt A  and Tio Jose.  He of course loved all the attention and had a great time!

Rene's Wedding Weekend

I had the honor of being a part of my dear friend Rene's wedding this weekend.  I had such a wonderful time celebrating her and her new husband, Patrick.  The festivities started on Friday with nail appointments, a bridal luncheon, and rehearsal and dinner.

I Scream, You Scream, We all Scream for ICE CREAM

My mom is obsessed with ice cream - I am so serious.  She would eat it all the time if she could.  So she has been asking since P was 1 month old when could she please give him some ice cream.  Since Pierce has been drinking cow's milk for about a month now, I figured it was time for the ice cream.

After lunch at Chick-fil-A today, my mom ordered an ice cream in a cup.  It was quite a big cup of ice cream, but I knew that between the 2 of them, it would probably all be gone.  She sat the cup down in front of Pierce (with the lid still on it) and this is what he did:

Needless to say - he was READY for his ice cream.  After a couple of minutes of eating with the lid on, my mom started to give him the ice cream with a spoon:

And then he decided he would rather do it on his own with no spoon:

And then he decided he would try with the spoon by himself:

Grandma was so excited that Pierce loved the ice cream as much as her!

Tuesday night Pierce and I went to watch Justin play softball.  I don't think P (or I) saw much of the game, but we had a great time!

1 Year Stats and Outside Fun

P went in for his 1 year well-check today.  Poor guy got 4 shots.  He was quite a little trooper though - only a few tears.  His 1 year stats are:  18 lbs and 11 oz (1oth percentile) and 30 inches long (50th percentile).

Once we got home from the doctor, P wanted to be outside with Duncan.  He enjoyed playing with all the dirt, sticks, balls, and bubbles he could find.  Since Justin was home early due to the doctor's appointment, he started putting together P's little 'outside play thing.'  Pierce loved helping dad and really loved going down the slide.

happy halloween

right after p's party, we changed clothes and headed to the fall festival at the church.  p had a great time showing off his costume and wandering around with the multitudes of people also at prestonwood's fall festival.  we stayed with the whole 'rockstar' theme and dressed pierce up as a guitar.  he was super cute!

Birthday One

525,600 minutes,
525,000 moments so dear.
525,600 minutes - how do you measure, measure a year?

In daylights, in sunsets,
in midnights, in cups of coffee.
In inches, in miles, in laughter, in strife.
In 525,600 minutes - how do you measure a year in the life?
How about love?
How about love?
How about love?
Measure in love. Seasons of looooooooooooooove.

I am not sure how Justin and I would measure this last year -  maybe in sleepless nights, bottles drank, dirty diapers changed, ''you gotta come see this,''  jars of formula, cackles, number of times we heard P's nighttime music, nicknames given, spit-ups, pictures taken, or even the number of times we saw Duncan lick Pierce in the mouth.  No matter how we count the past 525,600 minutes, I will say that they are full of love for God's gift to us.  We had no idea how life was truly about to change last October 30th, but I honestly can't remember what life was like before then.

So here's to my little birthday boy!  I love you, Peanut!
