snow cones

i feel like sometimes, as a working mom, there are times when i have to be really intentional about things that i 'plan' to do with pierce. so, of course when i was thinking about our summer activities one of things that i wanted to make sure i did was enjoy a snow cone with him. last night we headed to the same snow cone stand that i grew up going to. i ordered p a cherry/grape rainbow one and i got my favorite, jamicain me crazy. we took the snow cones home and enjoyed them outside!

helping grandad in the backyard

justin had to go out of town for work, so pierce and i decided to head to arlington for a few days for a change of scenery and a little help for mom. pierce loves staying with his grandparents and he especially loves helping grandad in the backyard.

sliding...

one thing that i absolutely love (and admire) about Pierce is that he has no fear. whether he is at the pool going down the tunnel slide, playing with kids much bigger than he is and 'holding his own,' or sliding down big slides, I am amazed at his no fear attitude about life. i pray that God can give me just a little bit of Pierce's carefree spirit!

"For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but a spirit of power, of love, and of self-discipline."
2 Timothy 1:7

summer treat

after bathtime last week, pierce asked for a popsicle - and when i mean 'asked' he just really pointed at the freezer door until justin opened it and then grabbed one! :) we all went outside with p as he enjoyed his frozen summer treat.

swimming with friends

The City of Plano did right when they created the Jack Carter Swim Pool for kids! Pierce absolutely LOVES to go - he actually starts freaking out when we turn into the parking lot. It is so sweet!! We have been twice this week and have enjoyed every minute we are there!!

cheesy snack

I am not gonna lie. This preggo mom is so thankful for a sweet little son that loves to eat junky snacks with me every afternoon. I am sure that I should probably be eating something healthy, but for the time being, I will be enjoying my afternoon snack "Pierce style."

fun in the sun

"... you will fill me with joy in your presence..."
Psalm 16:11

hiding

"Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence?

If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there.

If I rise on the wings of the dawn,if I settle on the far side of the sea,

even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast."

Psalm 139:7-10

January 2011...

We will be ushering in the New Year with a new addition to our family! Baby McCord #2 is due January 17th. I am about 13 weeks along and I am feeling okay. :) Ready for the first trimester to be over, but so thankful for this sweet new addition to our family.

We will find out the end of August if this little one is boy or girl. Since this pregnancy is much different than my first, my initial instinct says girl, but I of course would love love love a baby brother for Pierce. The great name debate has been settled either way, but I will wait til we know for sure to let you know.

I would like to ask for prayers as we continue this journey to becoming a family of 4 (plus Duncan). God is in the process of teaching me a lot through this pregnancy, mainly that my dependance needs to be on HIM and HIM ONLY. I will share one day all that has gone on, but please just pray for me and my 'sense of all of all things normal' to return.

"Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee; because he trusteth in thee."
Isaiah 26:3
