Boys will be boys...

Just a quick little post so I can remember...

There is just something about boys and bottom noises. Toots. Justin has always (as long as I have known him) thought that toots/farts are funny.

He has asked me on more than one occasion what I thought the reaction of a caveman was upon the first time they broke wind.

I, on the other hand, think they are just a part of life and not necessarily something to talk about or discuss.

In the past month, Justin has taught Pierce to laugh everytime he toots or hears one. While playing today, Pierce let out a little toot and he got really tickled. He just started laughing and couldn't stop. Then of course I started laughing too. All because of a little toot.

Boys will be boys.

Justin's Birthday...

Justin's birthday was also on Saturday. With the FC Dallas season opener on Saturday afternoon, it wasn't quite the 'birthday day' that Justin deserved, but we managed to celebrate on Saturday with a fun, family lunch at Mooya's and dinner at Mattito's.

We love you Justin and are so thankful for you!

Happy Birthday Hillary

Justin, Pierce, and I celebrated Hillary's 3rd birthday on Saturday. We had lots of fun with a yummy cake, big slides, and lots of pink goodness.

wee bits of irish

"There once was a boy who loved him some green.
Chasing the leprechaun's gold he could often be seen.
He knew he could find it but he kept getting stuck.
Come over and help and bring some good luck!"

in honor of st. patty's day, pierce had some of his favorite little friends over to play. we had a great time eating yummy green food and playing outside.

13.1 miles

"I can do everything (run 13.1 miles) through Him who gives me strength." Philippians 4:13

Well...we made it! Becky, Julie, and I crossed the finish-line of the 1st ever Dallas Rock 'n' Roll Half Marathon and we did it in 2 hours and 31 minutes - which was better than our goal - and we ran the whole time!! And we were still standing when we finished - no one had to drag us across the finish-line. I definitely struggled the last mile and half and if it hadn't been for them I would have probably given up, but thankfully for them they weren't going to let me quit, even though I felt like my legs were seriously about to fall off.

When we started all of our training, I must admit - I was a little skeptical that we would actually make it the whole 13.1 miles. I have been so proud of us and all our hard work. I do know that we wouldn't have made it without the strength and perseverance that Christ gave us each time we set out to run. I also owe a huge THANK YOU to Justin (and Jeff and Craig) for giving up their Saturday mornings so we could go run for hours at a time.

Thank you Becky and Julie for being my running buddies and for bringing out something inside of me that I definitely didn't think was possible. I will forever think of you two when I put on my fancy running shoes and head out for a run. And by the way - we are definitely REAL RUNNERS now!
