snowy day

this afternoon was another 'snowy day' in plano. after p woke up from his nap, we turned up the heat, opened all the blinds and the front door, and watched the snow fall. and it was absolutely beautiful. i must admit that although i enjoy warm weather better than cold weather, i am really enjoying our own version of a snowy last week of december.

Grandma's Birthday Celebration

Yesterday we hosted my mom's birthday party. We loved getting to have everyone over to 'our neck of the woods.' Justin fixed chili for everyone and had all the toppings for a chili bar. We loved getting to celebrate Grandma with our family!

Happy Birthday, Grandma!!

On Saturday we headed over to Keller to celebrate Christmas with Justin's family. After opening presents, Kevin fixed a very yummy lunch and then the cousins enjoyed a little playtime together. We were very thankful to get to celebrate with them.

Christmas Day...

After sleeping in a bit (which I know won't usually happen on Christmas morning) Pierce cautiously walked down the hall with Justin taking pictures. Once P realized what was in the living room, he began moving much quicker.

After we got ready, we headed back to Arlington to celebrate with my mom's side of the family. It was so much fun to have everyone in town. We had a great time celebrating and laughing together.

We headed back to Plano in the afternoon to be home to greet Gram and PawPaw when they arrived from Sweetwater. Pierce loved having them in his home to play with and to celebrate Christmas with.

Merry Christmas from the McCords

Twas the Day and Night Before Christmas

Today was quite an interesting Christmas Eve with the winter weather we had here in Texas. Yesterday it was 70 degrees outside and today it was snowing...only in Texas!

We headed over the my parent's house this morning to celebrate with my dad's family and then my family. We were enjoying a fun morning/afternoon and then the snow started. Now I will admit, I was super excited about the idea of a 'white Christmas.' I even took P outside a few times to take a few pictures. Little did I know that later tonight, I would be driving home in the ice.

Despite the terrible, full of tears drive home (more than 2 hours for a normally 50 minute drive), we enjoyed a fabulous day celebrating with my parents, sister, brother in law, grandma, and cousins.

When we finally got home and ate a quick dinner, I rushed outside with Pierce to take a couple more pictures in the snow. All was well until I set him down and he fell down...

Dear Cousins,

I am so sorry that you both have the flu and aren't feeling good. I am super sad I am not going to get to see you on Christmas day. I hope Santa brings you lots of goodies tonight. I am looking forward to hopefully celebrating with you on Saturday.

I love you lots! Merry Christmas!
Pierce

Happy Birthday Jesus

One of our little McCord family traditions is to make a Happy Birthday Jesus cake. With all the hustle and bustle of this time of year, I want to make sure that Pierce always remembers why we celebrate Christmas. This year instead of a cake I opted for brownies - with candles in the shape of a J.
