In January, Justin emailed the people at the Celtics and asked if there was any possible way that we could meet Paul Pierce (Pierce's namesake) when they were in town tonight. At first, this dream seemed so far-fetched and definitely impossible. The people at the Celtics were so nice, but told us that since they were flying in today and leaving tonight it wasn't likely. Justin was satisfied with an email back but was still secretly hoping something would pan out.
Well, about 72 hours ago, Justin received an email that said we were going to get to meet Paul Pierce before the game tonight. Of course, we started freaking out! I mean, who gets to meet NBA players? So, we all donned our Celtic green tonight and headed to the AAC. When we arrived, our press passes were waiting for us and we were escorted down to the visitors locker room. We waited patiently underground until Paul arrived.
Then....from the distance, I spot Doc Rivers (the coach) approaching. He stops and says hi to us and then enters the locker room. Then from around the corner come the tallest men I have ever seen. KG was leading the pack with his I-Pod in, with Paul Pierce and Sam Cassell following. Paul stops and introduces his self to us and talks to our little P. He even called Pierce "Little P." He was so nice and took a couple pictures with us. He gave us a couple of neat souvenirs.
After Justin and I composed ourselves, we headed back up to the court. The next thing we know, the owner (of the Celtics) is talking to us and offering to let Pierce take a picture with his 2008 Championship ring! And then he sends over Cedric Maxwell, their radio broadcaster and NBA Hall of Famer, to meet Pierce.
It all still seems so surreal (even with pictures to prove it all). This is definitely up there on the "coolest days ever" list!

that is sooooo AWESOME...someday (when "Little P" is a little older to understand) and he actually realizes how COOL his parents are...he's going to freak out about the greatness of those pictures!!!! Those pics will be the first thing he shows his friends when they come over to his house!

OH MY GOSH!!!! SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO not fair! That is amazing. And to think, if it wasn't for little P, yall probably would not have had all that preferrential treatment! What a cool night! Yall were radiating with joy in those pics...even little P!!!
