the ice cream truck

right as we were about to lay pierce down for his nap, we heard that familar 'ice cream truck' song. justin ran to get a couple bucks and him and pierce headed outside. pierce had never gotten a treat from this special ice cream truck so he was really overwhelmed with all the choices, but so excited too! after paying for his ice cream, he headed to backyard to enjoy his yummy treat.

jose turns the big 3-0

our brother in law, jose, turned 30 a couple of weeks ago and we celebrated this weekend with a little party with some of his favorite people. it was a very fun evening sans kids. alison put together a great party at boston's pizza in arlington. we had a great time celebrating jose!

happy birthday old man!!

squirt.

justin has affectionally nicknamed stella "squirt."

it all started because when she was little (isn't she still little?) she use to make all sorts of little sounds. and now her sounds are full of giggles and babbles.

she is sitting on her own steadily now. i sometimes still put a little a pillow behind her in case she reaches too far for a toy. :)

i guess that means our little squirt will be crawling soon ... time, please slow down.

say what?

Just a few of the (funny) things that P says .... so I can remember, of course.

• "Follow Me" - this might be his most frequent phrase. anytime he wants me to come with him, he says it and does this really cute hand motion.
• "Talk" - while reading books, this is what he says when he is ready for me to read the words to him.
• "My teetee is night night." - he told me this today while trying to go potty before naptime. apparently his teetee had already gone nightnight and wasn't coming out.
• "New One" - he says this in reference to anything that isn't just like the one (of anything) he is use to.
• "Daddy, run with Bobby?" - everyday when justin gets home from work, p asks him if he ran with bobby today at work.
• "Play soccer with me." - since soccer is one of his most favorite things to do, this too a frequent sentence (or demand at times) at our house.
• "What doing, mommy?" - his version of what are you doing. and he asks it all the time.
• "I do it." - essentially telling me not to help, he can do it.
• "I tell HoHo." - he has started saying this lately when he finds something he wants. he is going to tell HoHo aka Santa. :)
• "I love you baby Stell (mommy/daddy too)." - melt my heart.

It might appear that he only says short little phrases, but don't be fooled. He talks all the time and most of the time it is very loud. I wonder where he gets that from?? :)

playing with Luke

pierce (and stella) enjoyed some extra playtime this week with cousin luke. pierce and luke rode the merry-go-round together, ate ice cream, and played outside in luke's little pool.

staying cool

the only way to stay even remotely cool in this hot weather (besides staying inside) is to be in water.

my mom took us to a kiddie pool in arlington this week and pierce and stella had lots of fun and were even able to stay a little cool.

it is quite impossible to get a picture of little 2 ones...but here is the 'best' one of pierce and stella their nene and papa bert.

weekend at the lakehouse

i just got back from a fabulous weekend at lake cyprus springs. becky's parents were so generous and opened up their house to a group of us for the weekend. it was a perfect weekend full of fun, sun, food, water, and fellowship. (the only thing missing was my sweet hubby, who was out of town for work.) thanks for a great weekend, jeff and becky.

becky's parents' house sits on a perfect lot. it has a beautiful view of the lake and it is surrounded by trees. we enjoyed quite a bit of time just hanging out on their porch.
